ABOUT US

 

Amanda Lee School of Dance has seen tremendous growth since its opening in the Illawarra in 2015!

 

 

 

Amanda Lee School of Dance provides high quality and innovative dance training for students of all ages and abilities. Classes are offered in a number of styles to support students individual interests in a vibrant and organised environment.

​

Students are encouraged to develop their technical skills, dance artistry and build self-esteem under the guidance of our highly skilled, experienced and qualified instructors in a fun and supportive environment designed to inspire every dancer.

MEET THE TEAM

AMANDA LUCAS   RAD, CBTS, RTS

DIRECTOR AND PRINCIPAL TEACHER

​Amanda has been highly involved in all aspects of dance for over 28 years. She has performed, competed and trained both nationally and internationally, and has been coached by many highly regarded teachers, choreographers and examiners throughout her career. She has successfully completed RAD Graded and Vocational Examinations receiving Distinctions, achieved great results in the Glenn Wood Tap Syllabus, won numerous awards and competitions throughout Australia and the U.S, and has achieved great results in AMEB Piano Examinations. Amanda has a particular love for classical ballet, lyrical, contemporary and music.

 

For the past 17 years Amanda has taught at numerous studios throughout the Illawarra and Southern Highlands region. Amanda coaches students in preparation for examinations, choreographs auditions pieces, guest teaches and regularly teaches workshops for dance schools. She successfully gained her CBTS and RTS through the Royal Academy of Dance and remains current by attending regular seminars, courses and classes. Amanda has also trained at the prestigious Broadway Dance Center in New York, where she learnt the latest choreography trends and teaching methods used by many of the industry's best. Amanda has also mentored students and teachers through courses such as Cert. IV in Dance Teaching and Management through multiple training organisations including the ATOD. Most recently Amanda has commenced adjudicating and enjoys encouraging and inspiring students to further develop their performance quality and love of dance.

Amanda aims to provide an encouraging environment where students can develop their creativity and love of dance, whilst working towards their desired goals. She looks forward to the growth of the studio and inspiring many students in 2023!

CAITLIN MARTIN

TEACHER

Caitlin trained at Brent Street Studios and obtained Diploma of Elite Dance in Performing Arts after graduating from Brent Streets Full Time Certificate IV in Performing Arts course in 2018.

​

In 2017 Caitlin travelled to Los Angeles and successfully auditioned for IMMABEAST, the world’s most influential commercial dance company. For the past two years she has been fortunate enough to train under the IMMABEAST Company during her time in the US, exposing her to some of the world’s most influential choreographers and industry professionals.

​

Caitlin continues to work alongside some of Australia’s highest regarded choreographers each week at Brent Street and is looking forward to passing her knowledge onto our dancers in 2023!

ALLYSSA DUNNING

TEACHER

Allyssa has trained under Miss Amanda's guidance for over 10 years. During this time she has developed a love for multiple dance styles, theatre and acrobatics.

​

Over the years Allyssa has achieved many wonderful results at competitions and events locally and nationally, received consistently high results in Royal Academy of Dance Examinations and has participated in many community and dance related events including the prestigious RAD's 80th Anniversary Grand Defile. 

​

Allyssa's love for dance has lead her to teaching our Pre-School - Junior students in 2023 and we are thrilled to have such an talented and athletic role model for our students to look up to.
